Are you going to your Company Holiday Party?
by coffee_black inmine is saturday at a nice country club... my boyfriend is taking me, though it's not his cup of tea.. he's a really great guy.. our company christmas party used to be at the omni parker house in boston...very formal.

tonight i have an association holiday party... (csi...construction specification institute) it's being held at the ica (institute of contemporary art) in boston.

Do You Like Teenagers?
by snowbird ini mean really like them?.
4 of my 6 g'kids are now teenagers.
i can't stand them.. an old lady once told me that you've got to hate them (teenagers) before you can really love them.. i think she was on to something.. sylvia.

I love my niece and nephew, both teens, and acually like hanging out with their friends as well. All in all they are a really good group of kids, and my brother and sister in law have done an awesome job in raising them. They take care of themselves, are self sufficient, can cook, keep the house clean, get good grades in school. I loved looking after them in october when their parents were away on vacation.

by minimus ineveryone needs to know what you're doing, who you associate with, what movies and tv you see, whether you plan on extended schooling, what you do on weekends, etc.. they want you to account to them.
if they believe you're acting not quite in accord with their standards, they'll inquire about your business.. the elders believe they are literally, god's gift to everyone else.
they expect total openess in every matter including your love life, your goals and your secrets.. like i said, witnesses are so (too) nosy..

OMG the bookcase thing! I had a so called "shepherding" visit once, and the bookcase was not really that out in the open, it was kind of in a corner, with a chair blocking part of it, and during the conversation, asked which one of us had a bad back. I asked what made him think either of us had a bad back (I did but not many people knew) and he mentioned a book in the book case. Now this was a slim book, soft cover, in a bookcase not in full view and he spotted that?? Kinda creeped me out actually.

No, I very much doubt it would affect me. I don't see any of my jw relatives as it is, and the only other JW's that I care about are my mom and sister, and they already know my stand on things, and they didn't shun my brother when he was DF'd, so i think i'd be ok. I've already been through the "disown" part when my mom first found out, but we've come to an agreement on things and for the most part, it seems to be working out fine.
I'm lucky that i have alot of non jw relatives.

Full moon? Drunks - 0 Uzzah - 3 Peaceful Resolutions - 4
by Uzzah inhas anyone else noticed that people were completely screwed up today.
i had people at work freaking out, that normally are normal, others picking stupid battles just for the sake of fighting.. i hit my favourite pub tonight to forget about the day and ended up 'bouncing' three different beligerents.
all three at least 6 inches shorter 50-70 lbs lighter yet they insisted on attempting to throw punches and generally cause a scene.

OMG the people I've had to deal with the last couple of days were BONKERS!! All day on Wednesday I was asking if it was a full moon, and sure enough when I checked after work, it was.
What makes people go crazy with the full moon???
Sorry you missd out on your restful evening Uzzah, I can't imagine anyone wanting to pick a fight with you, they must have been influenced by the moon for that one! lol

Freaked Out, Failed to Vote, & Cult Thoughts Kick in too....
by yknot inso i tried voting twice today, both time complete failures.
now it isn't only a select few in my kh who think i am possessed.
first time i got to the front of the line and freaked out badly.
